Your Mind Is Not Your Decision-Maker
You make a pro-con list. You think about it for days. You ask everyone you know. And you still do not feel certain. That is because your mind was never designed to make decisions. It was designed to process information, reflect, and communicate. Not to choose.
Your Human Design Authority is the part of your body that is designed to make reliable decisions. When you learn to trust it, the chronic overthinking stops.
The 7 Authorities
Emotional Authority (Solar Plexus)
About 50% of people have this. If your Solar Plexus Center is defined, you must ride your emotional wave before making any decision. There is no truth in the moment. Clarity comes over time.
How it works: Feel the decision in a high emotional state. Feel it in a low emotional state. Feel it in a neutral state. When you reach clarity that holds across all three, you have your answer.
The trap: Making decisions when you feel excited (high) or desperate (low). Both will mislead you.
Sacral Authority
Available only to Generators and Manifesting Generators with an undefined Solar Plexus. Your gut response is your compass. It speaks in sounds and physical sensations, not words.
How it works: When presented with a choice, pay attention to your body's immediate response. An expansive uh-huh feeling means yes. A contracting unh-unh feeling means no.
The trap: Rationalizing your way out of a clear gut response because the mind disagrees.
Splenic Authority
A quiet, instant knowing that speaks once and does not repeat. Available to Projectors and Manifestors with a defined Spleen but undefined Solar Plexus and Sacral.
How it works: Your intuition speaks in the moment, often as a subtle body sensation or a quiet inner voice. It is about survival and wellbeing. If something does not feel safe or healthy, trust that signal immediately.
The trap: Missing the signal because it is so quiet, or overriding it with rational thinking.
Ego/Heart Authority
Rare. Available to some Projectors and Manifestors with a defined Heart Center. Your willpower and desire are your compass.
How it works: Ask yourself what do I want? Not what should I want or what makes sense. What does your heart genuinely desire? If you can hear a clear I want this, that is your answer.
Self-Projected Authority
Available to some Projectors. Your truth comes through your voice. You need to talk it out to hear your own clarity.
How it works: Discuss decisions with trusted friends. Not for their advice, but to hear yourself speak. Your truth reveals itself through your own voice.
Environmental/Mental Authority
Also called No Inner Authority. Available to some Projectors. You do not have an internal compass. Your clarity comes from your environment and the people around you.
How it works: Discuss decisions in different environments and with different people. Notice where and with whom you feel most clear. The environment is your authority.
Lunar Authority
Exclusive to Reflectors. You need a full 28-day lunar cycle to gain clarity on major decisions.
How it works: Talk about your decision throughout the lunar cycle. Notice how your perspective shifts as the moon moves through your chart. After 28 days, your clarity stabilizes.
Strategy: How Decisions Come to You
Your Authority tells you how to decide. Your Strategy tells you what to decide about:
Generators: Wait for something to respond to. Do not initiate decisions from the mind.
Manifesting Generators: Wait for a response, then check your gut before informing others of your direction.
Projectors: Wait for recognition and invitation. The right decisions come through being seen and invited.
Manifestors: Initiate when the urge arises, then inform others of your decision.
Reflectors: Wait 28 days. Let life show you the decision rather than forcing one.
Why Your Mind Lies to You
Your undefined Centers are where your mind generates unreliable thoughts:
Undefined Head: Am I thinking about this enough? (You are thinking about it too much.)
Undefined Ajna: Am I certain? (You are not designed for certainty. Stop seeking it.)
Undefined G: Am I going in the right direction? (The direction reveals itself. Stop trying to figure it out.)
Undefined Heart: Am I worthy? (Yes. Stop trying to prove it.)
