What your chart shows
Your type is the broadest description of how your energy works, and your Strategy is the practical way to use it. Your Authority is how you make reliable decisions. Your profile describes the role you tend to play, and your Incarnation Cross describes the theme of your life.
The bodygraph shows the nine centers. Colored centers are defined and work consistently. White centers are open to other people's energy. Each number is one of the 64 gates, and every gate in your chart links to its own page, together with the matching Gene Key.
How the chart is calculated
A Human Design chart uses two moments. The Personality side, shown in black, is calculated for the moment you were born. The Design side, shown in red, is calculated for the moment the Sun was 88 degrees earlier in the zodiac, which is roughly three months before birth.
For each moment the calculator finds the positions of the Sun, Earth, Moon, the lunar nodes and the planets from Mercury to Pluto, then places each one in a gate and a line. Positions come from an astronomical library that we checked against NASA JPL data, and the calculator uses the true lunar node.
Why your birth time matters
The Moon moves through a whole gate in less than half a day, and every planet can sit close to the edge of a line. A few hours can change your Moon gate, and occasionally your profile, your definition or even your type.
If you do not know your birth time, tick the box and the calculator uses noon. Your type and Authority are usually still right. A birth certificate, a hospital record or a parent's memory can tighten it up later.
Your privacy
The chart is calculated on your own device. Your birth details are not sent to Project Me or stored anywhere. The link you can copy after calculating contains your birth details, so share it only with people you want to have them.

Do I need my exact birth time?
It helps. The Moon changes gates within hours, and planets near a line edge can shift your profile or definition. If you are unsure, use your best estimate, or tick the box to use noon.
Which time zone should I choose?
Choose the time zone of the place where you were born, such as America/Chicago for Minneapolis or Europe/London for Manchester. The calculator applies the historical daylight saving rules for that date.
How accurate is this calculator?
Planetary positions match NASA JPL data to within 20 arcseconds, far finer than a Human Design line (about 3,400 arcseconds wide). We also compared a set of charts against an independent calculator and every gate, line and channel matched.
